The Quinta
Quinta do Candeeira is located in Sanfins, in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, in the district of Aveiro. The name comes from a family nickname. Like a journey through time, the surname has travelled from generation to generation, and was probably given to us by the place where the owner´s grandparents came from, Candeeria. In addition, it reminds us of luminosity, of lighting up like a dawn. A destination where you can always find light, life and joy.
This is a project based on rural tourism and agroturism, which focuses on rustic tradition and harmony with nature. A delight for all the senses, with cultural and gastronomic experiences in a haven of confort and refinement.
The Facilities
The original house was built in 1746 and was renovated in 2021 to welcome our guests. With 4 bedrroms that combine aesthetics, functionality and comfort. We also take into account the current need for a workspace, which is why all of our rooms have an office aspect.
On the ground floor you will find the reception, living room, kitchen and dining room. Outside, we have divided the space into 3 areas: agriculture, livestock, and leisure. In the agriculture area you will find our organic vegetable garden and greenhouse; in the livestock area, our animals; in the leisure area, the tennis court, the swimming pool and a huge garden.
Now that you know a little obout the history of the Quinta, we would like to add the owner´s motto…
“Of the customer is satisfied, we are satisfied!”
So if during your stay you notice that there is something we can improve in the facilities and/or service, please do not hesitate to let us know. We are always open to all constructive opinions.
Spaces
Country Kitchen
Located in front of the main house, this is a space that takes us back to the old days but with all the comforts of today. Furnished and decorated with materials that nature provides us, such as clay, stone and wood. the kitchen has a wood-burning oven, a large chimney, a wooden table that seats up to 6 people and is equipped with everything you need to create a delicious meal.
Dining Room
Located on the ground floor of the main house, this is where we serve breakfast to our guests. With a warm light in the morning and a romantic atmosphere in the evening, this is an intimate and modern space with capacity for 16 people. It is also ideal for social events, meetings, as well as wine and gastronomic sessions.
Porch
On the front of the house, this is a covered outdoor space ideal for gatherings, celebrations, wine tasting and even business meetings. A large area that can accomodate up to 20 people, with views of the Quinta’s garden and surrounded by the sounds of nature.

We have modern and versatile facilities, different spaces that can be adapted to your needs, and a quality service that will make any celebration on unforgettable moment. Always with a rural concept, in tune with nature and exquisite comfort.
Outdoors
Our garden is a space to stay and be, to contemplate, to live and share moments of happiness. A space immersed in nature, with capacity for 100 people, ideal for any type of outdoor event.

We invite our visitors to meet our animals and their habits! We have:

Vegetable Garden
In our organic food paradise, if you are looking for inspiration to connect with nature and make healthy food choices, this is the ideal place to start your journey. In our begetable garden you will always find something to prepare a fresh salad and various aromatics to accompany any type of meal.
Your imagination is the limit in this area, just put it into practice!
Orchard
In our orchard you can enjoy the fruits of the season, straight out from the tree. Because here we only use organic products to treat our plants, such as coffe grounds and ash among other organic materials.

Fruit seasons may vary depending on the climate and the quantity of fruit on the comsumption.
We ask our visitors to only pick what they are going to eat, so as not to spoil the food taken from the plants.
Accomodation Information
Check-In / Check-Out:
Check-in Time: 16h00-19h00
If you need to check in early, please contact our team. If there is availability, you can arrive at the agreed time just to leave your luggage at reception. This will give us time to prepare the rest of the house for your stay.
Late Check-in (After 19h00): This option is subject to availability and if you do not inform at least 24 hours before check-in, there will be an extra cost:
Betwen 19h00 and 23h00 – 25€
After 23h00 – 45€
At this time, you will be given a card to allow you to enter and leave the property. This same card is also the one you will use to access your room. If you lose them, you must go to the reception and report the incident immediately.
Charge: 10€
Check-out Time: Until 12h00.
Late Check-out (After 12h00): For every 30 minutes of delay in departure, a fee of up to 50€ may be charged.
Exceptionally and for justified reasons, check-out may be made until 13h00, subject to availabiity and any reservations. This change must be requested up to the day before departure, otherwise the late check-out fee will be charged.

To ensure you receive a good service, we recommend that you ask your choosen contact about the amount to be charged and dthe estimated time for the desired journey. This way you can select the most suitable option for you.
Meals
Breakfast, which is included in the reservation, is served between 09h00 and 10h00 in the dining room. If you need breakfast to be served earlier, please feel free to arrange the most suitable time available with our team.
We are available to serve lunch and dinner, this option is subject to availability and reservations made at least 24 hours in advance (This service has an extra cost).
Room Cleaning
Guests may choose not to have daily cleaning. In order for your room to be cleaned, among other options, you must update the hanger located on the ouside door handle in the hallway of your room, by placing the desired label down, during the morning. So that the person responsible can see it to achieve it. If you do not indicate your preference, the room will only be cleaned after check-out.
Laundry
Do you need your shirt ironed? Have you been traveling for days and need to wash your clothes? No problem! Hand this task over to our team.
If you would like to know the prices or simply use the laundry service, please contact reception so that they can provide you with the corresponding list.
Please note that the Quinta is not responsible for clothes that shrink, fade, deteriorate due to wear and tear, manufacturing defects or any other object left in the pocket with the clothes.
Heating
Each rrom has air conditioning, you can choose between hot or cold temperatures, dehumidification or even ventilation of the room.
Office Space
All of our rooms have an office area. A work desk, a comfortable chair and a quiet environment.
TV and Wi-Fi
Satellite TV is available and you can also access free Wi-Fi.
Recycling
If you have recyclable waste, you can leave it in the respective bins located in the dining area on the ground floor. There you will have five options…
Paper & Cardboard / Plastic & Metal / Glass / Household Waste / Organic Waste.
Swimming Pool
– Opening hours: *24h;
– Unsupervised pool;
– There is no lifeguard, swim at your own risk. Swim only at a depth that makes you feel comfortable and safe, and swim with someone esle;
– The use of the pool must comply with rules of civility and hygiene;
– Minors may only use the pool if accompanied by adults and properly equipped for this purpose (floats, life jackets, armbands);
– It s the guest’ responsibility to use the pool properly, to supervise children and to prevent any damage/accidents resulting from failure to comply with the rules for using the pool;
– There is a lifeboy and first aid kit near the pool.
*The pool is open 24 hours a day. However, we only open the cover during the day, on windless days, upon request. At night, gurests can enter even with the cover on, by accessing the door located at the front of the cover, thus giving access to the inside of the pool.
Please note that the pool and tennis court are available for event bookings, so it is possible that during your stay theses areas will be used by groups that booked.
However, just as we inform guests, we also inform groups that booked the spaces for events, that as we operate as a Local Accomodation, we are likely to have guests staying overnight. Who can use the same area during the event.
As informed at the time of making the reservation via automatic message. We also offer possibility of canceling without charge if you do not agree to share theses areas, this option is only available for requests indicated on the same day the reservation is made.
Tennis Court
The tennis court is also available 24 hours a day, with the tennis net, football goals and basketball hoops. The equipment is available at reception, but we ask that you leave it where you found it when you have finished using it. If you wish to use this aarea at night, please let us know in advence what time you would like to use it, so that we can program the lights to turn on during the darkest hours of the day.
We recommend that you make a reservation in advance to guarantee your space, at your own pace. If you wish to invite others to enjoy the space with you, there will be an additional charge of 15€/person.
Training Room
If you are looking for a place to exercise, don´t be afraid to visit our training room located next to the tennis court. You will access a range of equipment for various types of activities. If you would like to have a PT present to give you instructions during your training, please let us know in advance so that we can organise the most suitable time available.
House Rules
It is Not Permitted:
a) *Smoking inside the house;
b) Changing or altering the layout in the rooms;
c) Consuming food and drinks in the rooms;
d) Leaving rubbish in the common and private areas;
e) Animals inside the house;
f) Housting people who are not on the guest list for the reservation;
g) Removing towels or other objects from the Quinta property.
*The rooms and other internal areas are non-smoking areas, so please do not smoke in these areas. If you wish to do so, you may use the balcony of your room (if applicable) or the hotel entrance.
Duties:
a) Respect opening hours and rules;
b) Inform the managers of any irregularities that occur on the premises of the Quinta, so that the appropriate measures can be taken;
c) Compensate for any losses or damage caused to the Quinta;
d) A fee will be charged per visitor received, regardless of the length of stay or degree of kinship; Any expenses or damages caused by the visitors are the responsibility of the guest;
e) Anyone who acts inappropriatelly, contrary to these regulations or violates leagal or moral standard, will be asked to leave the establishment, in addition to being subject to a fine.
Damages
Any damage caused voluntarily or involuntarily will be charged to by the Quinta. Depending on the severity of the damage, the Quinta will take legal measures deemed necessary.
Security
For security reasons, the common areas are monitored by cameras; the common areas are: the hallway from the kitchen to the chicken coop, which includes the garden area, parking, entrances to the property, the front and back of the house.
We also add that for security, the reception is under surveillance by a closed circuit television, recording images and sounds.
In the outdoor areas where cameras are not allowed, such as the pool area, among others, we have humanoid motion detectors. These notify any movement immediately, alerting the person responsible for the Quinta´s security.
Inside the house you will find several motion detectors, which are only used to prevent unauthorized access when the alarm is active, on days when there is no movement.
You will also notice that smoke detectors remain active in all rooms. In addition to the kitchen, wherre we have a carbon monoxide detector.
This way, we maintain active security 24/7 throughout the property.
The Quinta is not responsible for any loss of money, jewelry or other valuables. Therefore, please take care of your belongings, as their safekeeping is the sole responsibility of the respective guest. We recommend that you always lock the doors to your rooms.
Guests´ lost or forgotten belongings at the Quinta will be kept for a maximum period of 6 months, after which the Quinta will be free to dispose of them as it sees fit. It is also not responsible for damage or theft of vehicles.
Noise
Out od respect for all guests, we ask that you pay special attention to silence, especially at night. After 22h00, activities that cause noise that could disturb other guests are not permitted. Unless it is an event organized by the Quinta, of which guests will be noticed in advance.

During their stay, our visitors have the opportunity to meet our animals and their habits; perticipate in the harvest of our organic prosucts; and participate in the various cultural activities that we organize.

The Region
Quinta do Candeeira is located in Sanfins, in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, in the district of Aveiro. The city that hosts our Quinta stands out for its ancient past. This is a historical, cultural and recreational area. Access to this region is facilitated by an important set of communication routes, thus ensuring proximity to major urban centers such as Porto, Aveiro and Coimbra. Santa Maria da Feira is also surrounded by municipalities with natural and cultural heritage, such as Arouca, Espinho, Oliveira de Azeméis, São João da Madeira e Vale de Cambra.
